SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
We had another great weekend at Legacy S Arena with more of those amazing times on great ground.
Blake and Jaycee have kept the clean up going and have already put in extensive hours preparing the outdoor arena for the outdoor shows when we move out there. We have just two indoor shows left for this season on May 30 and 31 and June 6 and 7. If you haven’t made any of these indoor shows you still have time to get some Interstate qualifying runs from this special indoor arena. As most of you that read these highlights of shows have probably noticed, I never include the peewee times in the results. I do that because WHO doesn’t consider those classes as competitions, but as learning classes. But I think it’s time that I give a shout out to all of our great peewee riders who, with our juniors, are the future of WHO. This past weekend we had Jackson Huggins doing the events on RP, which is an amazing feat if you’ve ever seen Cortney on RP. When she first started putting Jackson on that pony, I wasn’t the only one saying “She be crazy”, but RP proved us wrong by settling down and becoming a great kid’s pony. We have seen Carson Abatie transitioning from April to making some nice barrel runs on Peach. Harper Raichel has done wonders on Candy’s old horse Dani, and this past weekend rode Skippy since Dani is a little off. The Josi girls have both moved up with Dylan on Cricket and Reagan on Norman. Norman went home with them a couple weeks ago and just in that time he learned the kid mode as I call it. Although I don’t think it will be long before they will be running Interstate qualifying times. Both Graylie and Emalyn Teune have made great improvements on their ponies Gypsy and Spanky. And we have the Keller girls Quinley Rae and Huckley Jo doing great on their horses. I know I haven’t mentioned all of our peewees here, but just the ones I remember seeing at the past couple shows. I hope to see more of them riding at our upcoming shows. And welcome back to Kassi Helmricks! She and her 4H student and new junior member Lily Huerta came all the way from John Day to enjoy the weekend with us. That’s a longer drive than Kassi used to do from Tillamook, and we are glad you made it. I know we will be seeing them at the upcoming shows since Kassi kept saying “I forgot how much fun this was”.
